Le Ruban is a project proposal for the Wiels marsh site with a view to enhancing its value on the scale of the municipality of Forest.
The qualities of space of the site contrasting with the strong density of the surrounding buildings were the starting point of the reflection of the project.
In the process, it was very quickly questioned to leave the majority of the marsh intact to preserve the extensive character of the water, from there came the idea to position the building between the marsh and the avenue Van-Volxem so that the cultural center is at the junction between the interior and the exterior of the site while allowing a certain porosity, favoring new accesses, a continuous walk along the marsh as well as visual breakthroughs.
In relation to the cultural functions already existing on the site, the ribbon has for vocation to work with the existing with the aim of creating a diversified cultural pole for the commune and its surroundings, by proposing above all functions related to the diffusion and the discovery, including in particular an auditorium as well as a greenhouse educational greenhouse with the aim of discovering urban agriculture.
